The tooth fairy was here!

My Little One has had a wiggly tooth for several weeks. Her first one! Yesterday morning it finally fell out. I had plans of buying her a cute Tooth Fairy pillow or box, but I kept putting it off. And now we needed one right away. So, we made our own!

This is what we came up with. It was a fun project to do with her. She picked out what she wanted on it, and I *tried* to make it work. Pink and blue, flowers, stars, and a teddy bear. I think it turned out pretty cute! A little over-the-top, but that's what this 5 year-old likes. :)

The Tooth Fairy came last night and left her $5... and sprinkled some glitter around the box. I think my Little One was more excited about the fairy dust than the money...

That is so much cuter than any storebought pillow--and the memories to go along with making it with your little one. . .priceless!

P.S. By the time we got to #4's loose teeth, sometimes the tooth fairy was really busy and a bit forgetful, so she often "left" the money in my wallet so it wouldn't get lost under the pillow. :-)

Oh my gosh that is so funny. My son is 4 and he just lost his bottom front 2 teeth last night. He was eating an apple and Mommy my teeth are loose. His grown up teeth were already growing in. So thinking oh my he is a little young I took him to the dentist. He was like it's odd but not too abnormal. Whats even more strange he is getting his 6 year old molars. My Mom gave me my tooth fairy pillow so grif used that. Congrats to your daughter and love the box, it is perfect~

How sweet! That one's even better because her mama made it! Good idea with the glitter. My little one lost hers and was so excited about the tooth fairy. We left money for her. But the next morning she was so disappointed because she didn't understand why she didn't leave any fairy dust! Oh my..it broke my heart...note to self...next time and ALWAYS leave fairy dust!

Great project. When my kids were of the tooth fairy age, we also used glitter, but I would sprinkle a bit at a window...this was where the tooth fairy had "entered" the house.

there is nothing as exciting as losing that first tooth

unless you're 80

Brilliant idea! Girl, you may just start a trend! The Tooth Fairy, having seen this darling bear, is not going to be so willing to settle for a plain old tooth under a pillow anymore!

Heather, that tooth fairy box is the sweetest thing...and now you have created an heirloom that your daughter can pass down to her little ones...and oh my does the tooth fairy pay well at your house...i think my kids would pull their own teeth out for that kind of dough:)

What an adorable toothfairy box!! It's way cuter and sentimental than anything you would've bought....plus it's special because you two made it together. $5.00???? Wow....lucky girl!! I got 25 cents per tooth when I was little, LOL!!

hi heather ~ that is definitely the most amazing tooth fairy box ever created! i think you just raised the bar, and the rates!

i'm laughing when you said your little one had a loose tooth for weeks...two of my kids would let that tooth dangle by a cord - for weeks, but my little one would work at it at the first sign of a wiggle until it came free! thanks for sharing.

This is far prettier than anything you could possibly buy! So creative and special since it was a collaborative effort. I had to laugh at what the fairy left her - inflated prices since mine were that age!
