A Day with the Girls & a Giveaway!

A few weekends ago Crystal invited Heidi and me to her home for an afternoon of jewelry-making. I was VERY excited to see these lovely gals, since I hadn't seen them since we were roomies at Silver Bella. I packed up a few supplies (LOL!) and headed to Crystal's beautiful home.

We had a lovely afternoon of chatting and creating. Her dining room table became our workshop and the pliers and beads and jump rings were flying (literally!) It was SO nice to have an afternoon devoted to just crafting with friends. With two young daughters, I rarely get such a luxury ~ but it is one that I hope to have more often! Below are my finished pieces.

Some bracelets with beads and dangles. I got the idea to use the buttons from my friend Sarah. I just love how she stacks buttons in her jewelry ~ I had to try it too!!! That blue bracelet is my favorite piece.

A few floral bracelets.

These yummy mother-of-pearl beads came from a necklace that I found at an antique store. The necklace was a little too chunky for me, so I harvested the beads for a new one.

I love these together! They will be perfect to wear this Spring!

And this is the giveaway!
A sweet and Springy daisy bracelet.

If you'd like a chance to win it, just leave a comment on this post telling me what you would love to make if you had a free afternoon with your crafty girlfriends.
I'll pick a winner on Sunday.
(If you don't have a blog, be sure to include an email address so I can contact you if you win!)

We have a winner!
Lucky #13!!
Jenny!
Congrats!!!!!!!!

Oh, that sounds just lovely! Usually, if I am crafting with friends it is at a crop, so we do scrapbook pages and cards. I would love to get together to do other stuff, but I don't know anyone who likes to do the things I do! Your pieces are absolutely lovely! And so many in one day!

I can't even imagine an afternoon without the boys running around! However, if I had a crafty afternoon with the girls, I would love to make freezer paper stenciled t-shirts.

You created all those in one afternoon with your friends? They are gorgeous!
If and when I finally get my BFF JJ over again, we'd probably end up crocheting for a while and then beading for a while. Really doesn't matter what we do, the important thing is doing whatever it is together.

Oh gosh, a whole afternoon? I think if I had a whole afternoon with my girlfriends to craft we wouldn't get anything actually done. We would spend too much time eating cake and cracking jokes to finish anything. Does eating cake count as a craft? LOVE this jewelry. Well done!

Be still my heart, I really do desire that bracelet. Am I coveting? Yes, I am but in the most hopeful of ways! Count me in one hundred times over!!!

I'd make anything - cookies, scrapbooking, paper crafts, anything new would be fun. I love to try new things but making time for it can be hard. Your jewelry pieces are amazing. I love the simple necklace with the chunky mother of pearl beads! It is in perfect taste! :)

What an inspiration, would love to spend a day with my treasured friends, being pampered, then treasure hunting at thrift stores, then ending with an evening of exchanging craft ideas along with a glass of wine. :)

Oh my!!! I am in total admiration in front of your creations!!! I LOVE them all!!! Keeping my fingers crossed :D

I guess I forgot to answer the question!!! A free afternoon with friends? I would be scrapbooking of course!

Gorgeous!!!! You know its funny I have made a few bracelets and necklaces using mother of pearl buttons too - I think the small delicate buttons look so pretty with vintage rhinestones and oxidized silver.

I think if I had an afternoon with just the girls, rather than make someone I would much rather go junking - I am aching for the flea markets and garage sales to start and soon it will with Spring well on its way.

Gorgeous!! If I had a afternoon to be spent with crafty friends we would probably be sipping tea and working on some embroidery! Oh to dream, it is fun!

I would love to make anything with my crafty friends...but especially something new. I love creating with the girls and am so grateful for a daughter to create with.

Your jewelry is stunning, Heather.

Sarah said...

Oh and I also wanted to add that I love how you use color when designing jewelry. I always struggle using pretty colored beads. I just tend to stick with whites/cream - I have all these pretty beads that I never use. :(

Paige said...

Wow, those are amazing! you are very talented! Let's see...if I had an afternoon with the girls I would whip up a yummy treat and a yummy drink (hot or cold, depending on the season) and just sit and relax and catch up, even if we were all just in our jammies!

Lorrie said...

Gorgeous work, Heather. Hmmm, I think I'd love to make jewelry with my girlfriends - something pretty for all of us.

What a fun afternoon you all must have had as there is nothing better than creating with Bellas! Your jewelry pieces are beautiful. I love how you used just a bit of ribbon to accent the pearl necklace.

Since 3 of my favorite crafting buddies and fellow Bellas live in my town, I do get to spend afternoons crafting with them. Not as much as I like though. I loved an afternoon that we spent doing just what you did, making jewelry. My friend, Lisa, had taken Kari M.'s Rosary class @ Silver Bella and she taught us the basics to make our own rosary-type necklaces...Your post has inspired me to set a date with them for another afternoon to do the same...

Absolutely adore your beautiful green 4-leaf clover bracelet... not to mention the PARIS inspired bracelet as well! I'm so thankful to have run across your blog this AM! Sad about missing the BIRD inspired Swap.

Generally much isn't accomplished by way of craftiness on a day with girlfriends! HOWEVER there's lots of laughter and fun had by all, thus making it a FUN-tabulous day!

Hi Heather,
Boy girl, I'm dying over here. I just want to jump into my monitor & grab all of those amazing beads & bobbles & keep them for myself. Where do you guys find such treasures? If I had a free day to craft with my peeps I'd probably work on some of my resin charms, but I'd add some beads because your post inspired me to go in that direction. I'd love to win your give-away. Please enter me, I'll post it on my blog today. Lisa
PS I'm having one too! Check it out, maybe we can work out a deal. :)LOL
