Still stitching!

We've fallen a little behind on my 39 Squares Project. It's been a little crazy here this week! We'll have to catch up this weekend.

Here are my squares for Week Two. According to my daughter, I "cheated" by using four squares for the birdcage. Maybe I did. But, I like it. I'm planning on adding a little more to it and a birdie in a nearby square.

Here are my Little One's squares:
She's really having fun with this!!!

My corned beef is in the crock pot and the soda bread just came out of the oven.
Smells mighty good in here!!!

I hope you and your family have a wonderful St. Patty's Day!!!

(These pretty green goodies can be found right here.)

A Day with the Girls & a Giveaway!

A few weekends ago Crystal invited Heidi and me to her home for an afternoon of jewelry-making. I was VERY excited to see these lovely gals, since I hadn't seen them since we were roomies at Silver Bella. I packed up a few supplies (LOL!) and headed to Crystal's beautiful home.

We had a lovely afternoon of chatting and creating. Her dining room table became our workshop and the pliers and beads and jump rings were flying (literally!) It was SO nice to have an afternoon devoted to just crafting with friends. With two young daughters, I rarely get such a luxury ~ but it is one that I hope to have more often! Below are my finished pieces.

Some bracelets with beads and dangles. I got the idea to use the buttons from my friend Sarah. I just love how she stacks buttons in her jewelry ~ I had to try it too!!! That blue bracelet is my favorite piece.

A few floral bracelets.

These yummy mother-of-pearl beads came from a necklace that I found at an antique store. The necklace was a little too chunky for me, so I harvested the beads for a new one.

I love these together! They will be perfect to wear this Spring!

And this is the giveaway!
A sweet and Springy daisy bracelet.

If you'd like a chance to win it, just leave a comment on this post telling me what you would love to make if you had a free afternoon with your crafty girlfriends.
I'll pick a winner on Sunday.
(If you don't have a blog, be sure to include an email address so I can contact you if you win!)

We have a winner!
Lucky #13!!

A week of stitches

It has been SUCH a beautiful weekend here. Sunny and in the 50's...ahhhh... Spring is coming!

I wanted to share the squares that my Little One and I have been working on.
We are having a blast with this! She is SO excited to share her work with you, so here we go:

There is a purple Eiffel Tower, a fancy M, a flower, a cupcake, a cat wearing a crown, a felt flower, and the sunshine. She is very proud of them and wants me to tell you that she did these ALL by herself.

Here is mine:
My first square was the little speckled egg ~ my favorite one so far!

Petite Inspiration Box Swap - Nesting Edition

***Edit: This swap is now full! We have over 50 players! So fun. I've sent confirmation emails to everyone who had asked to join ~ if you signed up, but didn't receive one, please let me know ASAP. I don't want to leave anyone out! I had a really great response to this and could have missed an email.***

1. You will be placed in groups of 4 players. You will need to make a "Petite Inspiration Box" for each of the other players in your group (3), and you will receive one back from each of the players in your group (3).

2. The base of the box should be a sliding match box. I found mine at my grocery store in a package of 3 for about $2. These are the larger boxes that measure about 5x2x1, not the teeny-tiny ones. Decorate the outside of each box, and fill them with artsy goodies for your swap partners.

3. The items in your boxes should be vintage or vintage-inspired and have a NESTING THEME~ BIRDS, EGGS, NESTS, FLOWERS, etc. Some ideas of what to include: Old buttons, millinery, lace, ribbon, trims, jewelry findings, ephemera, images, charms, cupcake toppers, etc. These boxes are fairly small, so they should be easy to fill up... just be sure to send quality, usable items that you would love to receive yourself. You can see some photos of the boxes from previous swaps here.

4. You will need to mail your boxes directly to your partners by April 7th. PLEASE only sign-up for this swap if you are able to have your swap items created and mailed by this date. As with any swap, it is reallllly important to follow-up with your promise to make quality items and send them on time.

5. To sign up for this swap, please email me at info{at}speckled-egg.com , be sure to send the following:
*Email address
*Blog address
*The country that you live in
*If you are willing to ship internationally

6. I will close sign-ups on Sunday evening or at 40 players, whichever comes first. You will receive your group info by Monday evening. Feel free to grab the button above to add to your own blog.

I'm stitching along!

My daughter and I signed up for Amy's 39 Squares Project!
I'm very excited!
And a little nervous too.
I'm a stitching newbie.
But, I thought this fun little project would be a great way to jump in.
It is just one tiny little 1" square, every day, for 39 days.
I can do this!
You can too!
All the details are right here.

This is my color palette.
I'm thinking little speckled eggs, nests, starfish, hearts, flowers...
I'll be posting our progress weekly.
Can't wait to see what everyone else is doing!

I also wanted to let you know that I will be posting the details for the next Petite Inspiration Box Swap on Wednesday morning! Very exciting!
